Cape Breton based singer songwriter has had some positive responses through the industry that include showcases for ECMAs and Music NS in previous years. In 2008 he recorded his debut CD titled “Gary the Bus Driver” which is available on iTunes. His CD helped him open some doors through the Maritimes, branching out into surrounding provinces for some short tours. News was getting out about this guitar player with radio interviews and podcasts, helping to spread the news.

In 2016, after a brief hiatus Jon picked up his guitar again for the first time in years, and started writing, he found a new voice. A musical explosion bursting at the seams, he found he has something to say again. Experiencing life, love and loss. Asking questions, growing, maturing as an artist, songwriter and player. He started recording a new record, with our first taste of the new material posted one thing is for certain. This musical journey that we share together, is not over.

Small Kitchen Chaos Play The Groundswell

Small Kitchen Chaos performs music for the ear and the mind. Riding the wave of new folk, they stretch the gamut from haunting lyrics to funny, upbeat songs. Trista’s voice is both classic country and reminiscent folk, while John adds the blended percussion, backing instruments and vocals that help create the soundtrack to her lyrics. John and Trista met through music in December 2014 and have joined forces both in life and in their passion for music. Drawing their inspiration from campfires, summer storms, road trips, pinching each other’s’ faces, and Sid the Cat (the actual cat), they perform originals and cover tunes and are influenced by artists including the Milk Carton Kids, John Prine, Jeff Buckley, Shovels and Rope and Sid the Cat (again). They are currently on the road with their first recording, Never Have a Doubt. Small Kitchen Chaos consists of Trista Bassett on guitar, ukulele, violin, mandolin and vocals, and John Fraser on percussion, drums, ukulele and vocals.
